The Rusty A Junior Combo Pack includes the Student's Coursebook, the Alphabet book and the Time out! booklet.

The Student’s Coursebook is made up of 30 core lessons of two pages each. The syllabus has the following structure:

  • 30 theme-based lessons, introducing grammar and thematically-linked vocabulary and including reading, listening, speaking and writing practice
  • 6 Revision sections, one every five lessons
  • 3 cross-curricular sections, one every ten lessons
  • a page presenting basic adjectives
  • a page with cartoons promoting values

Teacher's Book 
The Teacher’s Book has overprinted answers. It includes a Teacher’s Guide with transcripts and teaching tips for the Alphabet Book, teaching tips for the stories, activities and crafts for the Time Out! booklet and guidelines as well as extra material for experiential activities, creative projects and photocopiable Extra Practice pages (with a key) for the Coursebook.

Rusty Junior A comes with a separate Alphabet Book which includes:

  • presentation and practice of the 26 letters of the English alphabet in groups of four. CVC (consonant, vowel, consonant) and three-letter words have mostly been used to present the alphabet
  • revision sections every eight letters
  • separate sections on words with double letters, words with letter combinations and words ending with the ‘magic e’
  • presentation of the basic colours and numbers (0-12)
  • presentation of time and the days of the week
  • fun chants and songs to reinforce the sounds of the letters and the vocabulary

The Alphabet Book includes a Workbook which provides more written practice of the alphabet letters and the vocabulary introduced in the Alphabet Book.
